Face & Neck Lift

Face/Neck Lift

The face is the most identifiable part of a person, and unfortunately is particularly susceptible to the aging process. This is evident in the development of jowls, folds and creases across the face, and banding along the neck that leads to a tired, sad, or worried look.

What are my options?

Every face is unique, and treatment must be tailored to enhance each patient’s innate beauty. We encourage you to bring in old photos to study how your face has changed over time. Together, you will identify the problematic areas and formulate a plan to address them. Our goal is for you to look your best – this means targeting a natural result that lets you look more youthful and refreshed, without looking like you had surgery. If surgery is not right for you, we may suggest nonsurgical facial rejuvenation [link], laser surgery [link], or other options.

Surgery involves a series of small incisions along the ears and below the chin, which are precisely hidden in the natural creases and are invisible to the naked eye. Depending on your anatomy, we may remove skin, tighten the deeper tissues, and inject or remove fat as necessary. Surgery may also be combined with complementary therapies such as laser skin resurfacing [link], fillers, botulinum toxin, or chemical peels [nonsurgical rejuvenation link] to improve the skin quality. Face and neck rejuvenation is an art, and there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach. Flexibility, creativity, and an artistic vision are key to an excellent cosmetic outcome.

We have had extensive training in face and neck lifts from many of the most prominent surgeons across the country, including Beverly Hills, and a combined experience of thousands of surgeries over several decades. We are dedicated to using our experience and abilities to help you achieve the look you desire.

Will I be asleep for the surgery?

We are typically able to perform these delicate surgeries under IV sedation, or twilight anesthesia. This avoids the risks of general anesthesia and being put to sleep completely, while still preventing you from feeling any pain.

What is recovery like?

Surgery takes between 3 – 5 hours, and patients can go home afterwards with a dressing over their face. Typically, we do not use drains. Usually, patients have bruising and swelling around the eyes for 1 – 2 weeks, with swelling in the face for up to 1 month. Pain is minimal and controlled with oral medication. Most patients are ready for social events in 3-4 weeks, and “wedding-ready” by 3 months. Strenuous activities must be limited for the 2 weeks, and patients may return to normal exercise and other activities after 14 days.

What can I expect afterwards?

No matter the approach, our goal is for you to have an aesthetically pleasing and natural result, without any appearance of having had surgery. Incisions after surgery heal in hidden areas without scarring. Complications after surgery are rare, and patients are typically very satisfied and happy after the surgery. Most patients report increased confidence and self-esteem as they feel refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to tackle their day.
